One of the greatest tasks when it comes to every girl’s beauty routine is finding products that work well with the skin and hair. It’s 2020 and everyone is cautious about the ingredients present in the every products (adios parabens and sulphates) and while many companies have taken this into account, the dilemma now is searching for the right natural products in a sea full of so-called “WOKE” brands. At the start of my “clean beauty” journey, I thought one company just wouldn’t be able to do it all, that is, until I came across a little brand known as WOW skincare. While many brands don’t live up to their claims, this brand, on the other hand, definitely lives up to its name.
If you’re on the path to ditching chemicals from your hair and skin products, then this brand is a must-try. I’ve personally tried a few of their products and (no, this is not a paid post) to tell you the truth—I’m hooked.
Skincare
I’m very apprehensive when it comes to the products I use on my face mainly cause I have sensitive skin and one wrong product can lead to a whole acne mess (yes, even at the age of 28). I’ve heard a lot about the benefits of apple cider so when I came across their apply cider face wash I decided to take the risk and give it shot. And since I had nowhere to go due to the lockdown, it seemed like the best time to try something new.
WOW Skin Science Apple Cider Vinegar Foaming Face Wash
The WOW Skin Science Apple Cider Vinegar Foaming Face Wash is enriched with Apple Cider Vinegar, Aloe Vera Extract and Vitamins B5 & E. It claims to prevent future breakouts and reduce active breakouts by using these natural ingredients.
It comes with this unique built-in nozzle that clears up blackheads, dead skin cells, removes excess dirt oil & makeup, leaving you with fresh, clean skin.
My Review
-The smell is the first thing I want to talk about. Unlike other natural/non-chemical products that have a peculiar odour, this was pleasantly sweet.
-After a couple of uses, a few lonesome pimples finally cleared up.
-It foams well and the nozzle is made up of plastic spikes which are soft on the skin and properly deep cleans the first layer of the epidermis.
When it comes to my skincare products, they need to change with the season to keep the acne away. Wondering why? Well, everyone’s skin texture changes every season, so while it may be oily during monsoon, it might get dry during the winter season. When monsoon began, my clear face started developing those dreadful red boils and it was time for something stronger for my skin and since the apple cider worked so well, I decided to pick the Anti-Acne Face Wash in hopes to keep my acne at bay.
WOW Skin Science Anti Acne Face Wash
This face wash is powered with tea tree essential oil, extracts of neem leaf, mulberry & liquorice, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins B5 & E. It is said to help clear out blackheads and whiteheads, prevent acne eruptions, refresh the skin and calm redness and irritation. It has a holistic formulation that contains no harmful parabens or mineral oils.
My Review
– This time around I choose the gel face wash and it works just as well. It has a slight neem odour which is bearable.
– The product doesn’t lather up much which is a given with most products enriched with natural ingredients.
– It takes a while for the pimples to clear up so don’t expect immediate results.
Haircare
Just like my skincare, it takes certain products to manage my head full of curls. After seeing so many people on different sites catering to curly hair suggest this brand, I knew I had to try it and see what all the fuss was about.
I purchased their hair mask and OMG it lives up to its hype. For someone who’s never used a hair mask, I made sure to do all the research before selecting the product.
Many brands made the cut but with so many good reviews it would stupid of me not to pick the one with the good ratings so I went ahead and bought the WOW Hair Mask.
WOW Skin Science Sunflower Biolipids & Argan Oil Hair Mask for Dry & Damaged Hair
For those who aren’t aware of the true purpose of hair masks, well, it is supposed to help strengthen the hair strands especially if it is dry and damaged. It goes after shampoo and you need to leave it on for about 15-20min before washing your hair clean. The WOW Skin Science Sunflower Biolipids & Argan Oil Hair Mask for Dry & Damaged Hair is formulated specifically for hair that is dry, damaged and degraded. Powered with Sunflower Biolipids, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and Argan Oil – each bioactive is clinically proven to be beneficial for hair.
My Review
– This hair mask definitely makes my hair feel softer and getting out the tangles( if you have curly hair, you’ll know that the struggle is real) is so much easier after applying this.
– The product itself doesn’t have a strong smell but it comes in a cream-like consistency, which you need to scoop out with your fingers and apply.
– For all those with curly hair, this product is amazing and unlike other brands, it is not at all expensive.
Note: Keep in mind that products react differently to different people. So far my journey with this brand has been amazing and I can’t wait to try out more. Those who also want to give the brand a try, they are continuously having offers on their website so you don’t have to break the bank to get beautiful skin and hair.
