Good music and delicious food, now that’s what we all crave for. Well, at Prithvi café you can get just that and much more. This café might be small but it definitely lives up to its big reputation.
Where is it?
Prithvi café is part of the infamous Prithvi theatre which houses some amazing plays all year long. But if plays aren’t your thing, don’t worry as you need not be a viewer to visit the café. Located in Juhu, it’s a pretty popular hangout spot amongst the youth of Bombay. Because of the crowd, there is a waiting period but it’s surely worth it. Visit www.grumpyexplorer.com for more info
Why do you need to visit?
Not only do they serve some mouth-watering food but it’s also pretty affordable. Their must-try include the chocolate chip waffles which is dunked with chocolate sauce, the white sauce pasta, which, if you’re a cheese lover then you’ll surely love this, the hot parathas and a refreshing glass of Kokam juice. Besides the delicious food, they even have live music on certain nights and if you’re expecting a full band well, think again.
We had a chance to listen to some melodious tunes played on the flute. The open air with fabric like roof covering, abstract chandeliers, calming music gave this place goa’esc vibes.
What to expect?
Since it’s small, they do have the concept of share tables. So don’t be surprised if you are seated next to total strangers. Good food, music and meeting new people, what more can you ask for? And if you’re uncomfortable with anything, the staff and waiters are pretty courteous and helpful.
So what are you waiting for? Grab a couple of your friends and head out to this quaint little café!
