In general, leather products are very expensive. A simple leather jacket will cost you anywhere from Rs.5000 to Rs.10,000 or even more but did you know that there’s a hidden gem in the heart of the city that sells leather products for a very cheap rate.

Where is this place?

We’re talking about Dharavi’s leather Market. Located between Mahim and Dadar, this is your go-to place for all leather products. Here the products are sold for a very cheap price and you’ll find everything from leather belts, bags, jackets, shoes etc.

Jacket prices start from Rs 2000 onward while ladies bags start from Rs 1000 onward. Meanwhile, pure leather belts and wallets start off at Rs 150. There are plenty of shops to choose from which are located right near the train station.

At these shops, you will find the finished products while the leather cleaning and stitching are done towards the interiors of Dharavi. Now, Rs 2000 may seem expensive to some people but if you compare it to the market price, it is relatively cheap. Many high-end stores make their products here and sell them for double the rates in malls. Most of these products are even exported abroad and sold for a very high price.

A little advice, don’t go by the tags put on the products. Most of the time they tag it at a really high price but with a little bargaining, you can get it down to a much cheaper rate.
